Principal, Take Victory LLC

After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Marketing, the majority of Kathy’s career experience was in sales and national account management. In August 2000, Kathy’s life and career plans abruptly changed direction. Within a 10-day time period, Kathy was diagnosed with a previously undetected congenital heart defect which would require open heart surgery; she and her husband adopted their daughter, Elizabeth; and then Elizabeth was diagnosed with the same heart condition as Kathy – all within ten days. A few years later, Kathy and her husband were blessed to adopt their second daughter, Ashlyn.

These major life changes led to Kathy’s renewed perspectives on life, priorities and to her second career within the non-profit community. Kathy served as Director of Resource Development, The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region. At The Salvation Army, Kathy was responsible for developing community partnerships and resources to fund annual operations and a major capital campaign to construct a new Salvation Army Service & Worship Center in Harrisburg. She presently works with Midwest Food Bank to establish and advance the Pennsylvania division of MFB, serving nonprofit partners throughout PA, NJ and NY.

Kathy is the principal of Take Victory LLC to consult, advise and share proven strategies for success with other nonprofit organizations and teams. She serves on various boards, has been the recipient of numerous awards for community service and is a frequent speaker and presenter. She and her husband, Jon, live in Hampden Township. They are the proud parents of two adult daughters, Elizabeth and Ashlyn, and share their home with two rescue hounds, Gabriella and Charlotte.
